If you use acid dyes, you know how frustrating it can be to try to translate powder or stock solution colors and wet, dyed fiber to their dry fiber color equivalents. Print ink color guides just can't provide a useful reference for actual fiber color. This tool will help ensure more predictable results in your colorway planning, and will also help you decide which colors to stock in your own studio.
Each color features samples dyed at 5 different saturations, plus 5 saturations of each color tinted with black, for an amazing range of building blocks.
All wool yarn samples are kettle-dyed with identical ratios and methods to give consistent examples of typical saturation and performance of each color. Each hand-assembled page includes color name and Jacquard number, with hand-dyed wool yarn samples mounted on strong cardstock and protected in a heavyweight crystal clear sleeve. All samples, plus detailed dyeing instructions and tips and hints, are conveniently presented in a large 3-ring binder that lays open in use and stands up on its own on a shelf for tidy storage.
